From which Clause did you calculated Area of Steel (As)??

i think there needs to be more checks than this, similar to reinforcing in a beam, there are multiple checks that need to be done to ensure reinforcing has enough "developement" into the supports, whether its tension due to shear or ensuring there is developement at the rate of moment increase

you don't have tables for steel areas and the spacings of rebars, for slabs and beams, BS 8110 has tables for reinforcements which you just read off.
