Nanyan Palace or the South Cliff Palace is one of the most famous Daoist sites in the Wudang mountains. Clinging to the side of the cliff, the majority of the buildings date from the Yongle Emperors reign during the Ming Dynasty, but the site has attracted Daoists since as early as the 6th century.

In this video, we will have a look around the palace on foot and by air.

Hope you enjoy!

What marvellous breathtaking sights to wake up to. It's not hard to imagine how one could freely abandon worldly desires and take up the search for spiritual truth in such a place. It's almost as if the mountains are beckoning to you to get lost in its embrace and seek the true meaning of life.

Just catching up with these. Spectacular place. I’m getting vertigo just looking at it. The mind boggled at the amount of work that went into building these places using basic tools and the logistics of transporting materials. Looks the perfect spot to kick start the start of normality.

Thanks for the incredible views. Particularly like your drone footages at the very beginning and the end, awesome! I also like your narration of Nanyan Palace's history. You seem to have a fairly in depth understanding of Chinese culture and history. Amazing!

With the background sound effects I can feel the Tai Chi movement floating in such scenery. Thx for sharing.

The Wudang exudes the essence of Daoist... age, void, serenity and wilderness. Great to see you back Nick. Hope you'd had some deep meditations and will share with us.

Thanks Nick! For a well edited narrative and clips. Bringing us to see this piece of ancient place where we couldnt go for many reasons. I love the ancient feel of things and places, not just in China alone. While at one of the castle near London or in the old town of Oxford university, i always try to soak up the feel of history. I love the serene quietness of the stone pavement/corridors that wind thru the Nanyan Palace building. Haha i spot a cctv camera at the top of a cliff like rock😊. So thankful for modern technolgy, the invention of camera and drone.

You must have waited for spring or summer to get this weather. Visited Wudang in autumn and were surrounded by clouds but was beautiful. An added bonus as it gave a mystical feeling, one minute you could see the temple from a distance and it disappeared the next minute. Don't miss this temple. It's the highlight of Wudang.
