I think this actually makes intuitive sense when you watch animals. They just sit around most of the time. I mean, wild ones obviously move a lot more, but we only really see them when they're doing stuff. They're out of sight when they're sitting around.

In my personal experience, people of really poor countries such as Ghana spend a lot of time doing nothing. They work for the day, once they have the money/food they need they stop working and chill.
(Obviously this is not everyone, but I was surprised to see that. I even wanted to live like them for a moment)
