Abus Sledg Brake Disc Lock Review
The Abus Sledg Brake Disc Lock provides an added layer of security to your motorcycle by engaging on the brake disc and preventing the wheel from being turned a full 360º. The Sledg uses Abus' top of the line X-Plus cylinder, which features 1.4 million key differs, is anti-drill and anti-pick, and withstood the picking attempts of top lockpickers from the US Gov't. The Sledg features all of the standard Abus features that separate them from the competition: proprietary hardened steel that is tested from -80º to 80º C, anti-corrosion and weatherproof, and hammer-blow tested at extreme temperatures. Abus controls every part of the manufacturing process, from sourcing of raw materials to machining to tooling to actual construction, meaning there are no middlemen. There is a reason why Abus has 90% of the lock marketshare in Europe. The Sledg features a 13mm hardened steel closing bolt, an anti-slide hardened rubberized plastic cover, one-handed Snap-n-Go operation, a handy carrying pouch, two keys, and a memory cable that acts as a visual deterrent to thieves and reminds the rider that the lock is engaged.

@GeneraLKaoZ If you're wary of sonic disc locks, go with the Sledg. It uses Abus' most sophisticated cylinder mechanism, the X-Plus cylinder, and this lock is actually a bit more heavy-duty than the RS1. However, the RS1 will provide the 110dB alarm, and if there is any manufacturer who can do a good job with sonics, it is definitely Abus.

Surprised to hear you say that! Abus is considered the highest quality locks on the market for motorcycle security. If you had any defects with your unit, I'm sure Abus would replace or repair the issue for you under warranty. -CK

Hi mate, thanks for the review. Can this be used in the rear disc? It's much harder for thieves to tamper and break disc locks attached to the rear disc as it's very harder to get to and attack it.

Very nice lock, i have it, but to be warned, the lock together with the reminder cable in the bag together sucks... no big deal but it really does not fit well. The lock is perfect, no question about it.

LOL. The LPL took about 15 seconds to pick this lock. Of course he can pick ANY lock.

I have bought a disc break lock with level 9 security and it's not getting lock now.
Use of this lock is only for period on 1 month.
So I would say pathetic quality...

Abus disc lock for me is total shit. Very very cheap quality. Mine didn't last a year, and the keyhole mechanism is already scrap. And I knew it would happen, even at first, as I feeled it very cheap. But when you buy, it is of course well wrapped into slodid plastic, so you can't try it. Dont by this crap...
