Don’t try to explain the love of books to people who don’t care for them, they will never, never understand. It is a deep passion... unexplainable. And yes, the smell is terrific.

“This beautiful depiction... of war.” 😂 Seriously, Everyman books are also so reader-friendly, which can’t be said of all hardbacks. The pocket classics are gorgeous!

I have many books, and the ones that I read when I was younger such as famous five and Percy Jackson, have a very distinct smell that takes me back.

I have many of the Everyman's Library classics and they are just so beautiful and sublime. They definitely look incredibly elegant and I appreciated your video showing the different styles of books they offer. I might get The Great Cat now!

You are so sensible and lucky! Everyman's library books are a delight to behold and hold. The paper is good, the font is just right, the typeface is easy on the eyes, the binding is both beautiful and durable. The book is section stitched so you can open it fully without fear. It is hard to get so many books in such uniform format of such quality. I have books from other series also, like the Modern Library, Penguins Hardcover, but i liked Everyman's more. So I have more than 50 of their regular volumes and almost all the volumes of their Pocket Poets series. I have the full volumes of these poets, but went for Everyman's for their sheer beauty. You must get the complete set of Shakespeare's plays. They serve the purpose of general reader, unless you want to become a critical scholar! I think you have a wonderful collection. All the best to you. May your collection grow.
As a general rule, never buy paperbacks when hardcovers are available. Get an edition with introduction and notes. You may also try Library of America editions where complete volumes of famous American authors are available in uniform format. I thus got the complete set of Mark Twain, and the speeches and writings of LIncoln, Thoreau and Emerson. That too is a delightful series.

I googled Everyman's library and your video was the first one to appear, I really enjoyed watching it.

Those burgundy books look much nicer without the dust covers.

The Russian reads 'Russian poets'. The little boxes on the spine block a load of the letters, but if you fill in the gaps it's 'русские поэты'

I really wanted to know what their pocket collection actually looks like, thanks for the video!

Watching this video, further reinforces why the actual book is so much better to read than reading digital copies... Also maybe a video on where to start reading classics.

I’m planning to getting three books from Everyman’s Library in the future. I have them bookmarked for future purchase.

I wish to remove the dust jackets of my books but then the fear that they might get ugly, doesn't let me do so.

They say you shouldn't judge a person by the books he reads but by the books he re-reads. What book or books would you re-read?

Everyman's Library is a great publisher. I read a collection of novels by Muriel Spark. There are volumes of authors Richard Ford, Joseph Heller, Martin Amis and Joan Didion.

My copy of Pride and Prejudice is from EML and it's SOO pretty, the sleeve has a delicate picture of a girl in a Regency dress and the hardcover is a beautiful olive green all trhough out

You SHOULD be collecting the really OLD ones ! These were the really beautiful ones...most printed BEFORE 1960. They had a broader range of titles, and they were much more artistically designed and printed. If you saw some of them, I think you'd agree. Old bookstores (most of which no longer exist) used to be filled with them. I still have dozens and dozens of them. I guess the only place to get them now is Craig's list or Ebay.

That book in black cloth binding is one of the most elegant and sexiest books I've ever seen. I wish there were more Everyman's books like it.

Does the translation of War and Peace translate the French in the text? Thanks!
