Galois Fields and modulus arithmetic are instructive in understanding concepts like division and multiplicative inverses. Such ideas will be put to later use in matrix operations. Also, effecting matrix arithmetic using Galois fields of low number such as GF(7) allows this to be done without computing any decimals or fractions. Hence the learner of matrix operations can focus on the matrix mathematics instead of fractions and decimals.
