I’m sorry to say that after about 30 minutes of setting the Rocket up the top area only on both sides started streaking color changes. It looked to be from the coating on the inside. Basically gray discoloring running randomly just on both sides of top, not the doors. Having had multiple tent brands have coating turn to goo here in FL this made me very nervous. I called Nemo both didn’t get through. It turn out looking like some gray camouflage. I decided to send it back because it certainly did not look normal. Maybe there is a good reason but I can tell you the streaky discoloration was not there out of the box. It was 58 degrees and 70 percent humidity and maybe humid air interacted with under coating. Not passing judgment just didn’t want a $450 problem.

I like the high bathtub but not the pole in the middle. Thanks for the video.

Even if just one person used it, that stick down the center would be a no sale for me.

I applaud Nemo having a go at this design but I think they'll discontinue it after a year or so. It looks like a seriously unstable design in wind, that flattish roof will shed condensation on the users and the vestibules are token gestures. One for sheltered dry conditions I think ( much as I love some other Nemo's ). Thanks for sharing as it's useful stuff. Happy camping. Andrew

Thanks for the first look. I will be sticking to my 2019 hornet elite 1p released in match.

Thanks for showing this. I was interested in till I saw that Center Pole. That's a deal-breaker for me.

I own a blaze 2 person. I had a issue with the poles. I emailed nemo and they got right back with me and sent me the parts a.s.a.p.! Love my NEMO

It may have a smaller footprint (vs duplex), but with the upright corners, it doesn’t need to extend all the way down to the ground, so can be shorter.

I like the first impression - and especially like the high bathtub floor with built in poles, no damp tent sitting on my feet making my bag damp. Seems like it would prevent a lot of bounce back in heavy rain and also seemed like it would be a good tent to setup & takedown during rain. Easy to keep dry, once you had edges staked, you could zip open and toss in pack, climb in after and put up the T all staying dry, lean out and do sides.... the poles built in don't bother me, it looked narrow in the stuff sack and looks easy to put in the side pocket of my pack and under the straps midpoint there, I put my hiking poles there when not using them so should hold the tent. I also tend to load my pack with things sitting more vertically than many do now, so, for me, it even wouldn't be a problem to put it inside. I like a longer narrower food bag that allows me to put the heaviest things ( food & water ) along my spine and then pack around them vertically, with sleeping bag & pad etc on the bottom supporting the heavy stuff. Another vertical item isn't an issue for me.

Center pole might be weird - but maybe not, just would have to try it and sounds like it has an option to use poles & skip center downward pole. wonder if you could put the hiking sticks on the outside - tip downward, handles up in the area between fly and mesh door?

interested in your friends review after using it a few times. I'm in the market for a new tent and just cant warm to the duplex.

Great review. I think Nemo did a good job in creating more useful interior volume in this tent and bringing the weight down to be more competitive with a DCF tent. I wonder though how it would 1) handle condensation compared with the Duplex, which has a steeper roof and designed to allow water droplets to slide down and out through the mesh fabric, and 2) handle sagging since the Rocket has a flatter roof and is made from silnylon which would tend to soak up moisture. While both tents are single-wall designs, it looks like the Duplex provides more ventilation. For $100 less, their new Hornet might offer better value.

Thank's for

Not wild about the pole in the middle of the floor. I'm guessing if you pitch it with two trekking poles it sets up more like a trekking pole tent ?

So you can't fit a 25 inch wide pad because of the center stick? I cant stand 20 inch pads, and Im not heavy.

I very much hope you will be able to get back out on the A.T. this year to finish up. You represent the "every-man" (at least to me), and from what I can tell, most of your subscribers as well. Good luck to you, now and in the future...

What was the total weight of the zpack duplex as it is there?

Not much of a vestibule. and since its silnylon it will absorb water and become heavy after a night of rain. For the price they are selling it for I would go with cuben fiber
