Caltrain, the commuter rail service in the San Francisco Bay Area, just got a new fleet of Stadler Kiss train sets.
You should come out and take a ride on the new electrified Caltrain service that runs between San Francisco and San Jose.

The Luxembourgish rail operator CFL has been operating the Stadler Kiss for a few years now, running on the beautiful Moselle River line to Koblenz. Definitely worth to check that line out.

Stadler trains are really nice! With the KISSes, FLIRTs, their amazing locomotives (eurodual's are great!), and, perhaps some Stadler-built unpowered coaches for these locos, these trains can easily transform a railroad into world class!

I think it's not only Stadler who deserves a praise for the interior, but SBB too. They were the ones who checked everything on the option list probably.

I love these trains.
So comfortable and quite.
Another marvel of the Swiss rail industry !
Thank you STADLER…

In that red and white color scheme these things look like the Caltrain ones in the Bay Area! Beautiful trains! Can't wait to ride them!

Oh that we could have trains of this quality in Great Britain!

I go to school in Oerlikon now, so I often take these from Oerlikon to Zürich HB on the IR36, I really like them, but I have 2 complaints:
- The seats are quite hard and not fluffy, I suspect they'll get less hard over time, but I would prefer a more fluffy cover, like on the RABe 511 or the Traverso
- I wish the livery had a bit more black on the bottom, more like the IC 2020, as well as black window bands on the mid-level, it just feels a bit empty right now.
But apart from that these are still exceptional trains, which I appreciate every time I ride one, just like the RABe 511 that sometimes run on my line to Zürich (S7).

It’s very cool to watch these videos about Swiss trains and know that the Bay Area will have the same trains next time I visit. Hard to believe in a way.

It`s always a pleasure to see those trains. I live near Schaffhausen, seeing them every day passing through my home town. Before those trains were fully introduced on the Re48 they sometimes replaced the older Re450 with their DPZ (so the one you arrived with in Schaffhausen) on the S9-Line which was really cool to see them stop. Sometimes they get replaced by the RABe 511, but currently the 511 get replaced sometimes by RABe 514 (the Simens which can be seen on the other side of the Rhine River while passing the Rhine Falls)

But you`re definitely right, they are amazing and Stadler just showed their outstanding quality again after introducing the Giruno

Enjoyable video as always - thank Thibault. We love holidaying in Switzerland (a bit expensive but well worth it for the scenery) and buy a Swiss Passport allowing travel on most trains, buses, trams and lake steamers. Seating in most 2nd class SBB trains is firm, but unless you’re travelling on a very busy service it really isn’t worth upgrading to first class.

I love your videos & this specific one (and others like it) because of the walking tours through the cars. I've travelled on trains since I was 6 months old. I love them. Cars & planes never could compete. I never even had a driver's license. Trains are the Way. Thanks to you & Superalbs.

They look very nice. Im really looking forward to seeing the KISS and FLIRT trains being operated by the ÖBB in the future. We'll see the first few deliveries in ~2026 if i remember correctly. There's nothing wrong with our current double-decker trains but they got a bit old over the years.
