Richard Stallman created a GNU Manual that we can follow and learn C Programming with. It's more of a C Programming reference and guide if you already know other programming languages, but it's free and available online now to download.

silly question from a windows user who wants to learn / switch to linux: why not distribute directly the pdf file? why go through so many stages (at least 2 if i remember correctly: make and that sorcery that generated the c.html file :) ) i am sure there are some benefits... please share ? thank you

This is the wildest s**t I've ever seen. In linux, to read/learn documentation for C programming, you have to first be a C programmer. Thanks for the video.

Although "nome" is generally the correct way to pronounce the word "gnome", I suspect that in a free software context the correct pronunciation is like the correct pronunciation of "guh-noo" (which RMS might have gotten from the late great Flanders and Swann) - so guh-nome (and guh-noo guh-noo guh-noo ... lalalalala ... )


It's definitely not "noo".

You could try the more ancient version of the pronunciation if you know how to say a German "ch", but that's another muh-atter entirely.
