Mombasa slang is a little different from that used in Nai, like 100=jiti, 500-buku tano, 1000-tenga, mnyama. It's been long I was there, I know alot has changed since even the currency i think it's new.I miss home so much.

buku jero is a slang for 1, 500 used in dar es salaam and not swahili at all

Kenyan youths using sheng' doesn't necessarily mean that they do not know Swahili well. They already learn't it in high schools. They just choose not to sound very formal. They want to sound 'cool'

i thought your Kiswahili is better than mine. I find many Tanzanians doesn't understand some grammar in Kiswahili called 'semi' check them please kukata maji ni kiswahili sanifu sana....meaning kukunywa pombe. sheng for pombe might be keroro, chang li, etc
