No matter how many times I hear a remix of this, I never get sick of it. Gen 1 Pokemon battle themes just hit different every time!

Blue is the only champion who you actually feel any sort of true desire to beat. He's several steps ahead of you the entire game, and your journey culminates with one final battle to show him that you are the superior trainer. The entire RBY soundtrack is fantastic but this track really makes the final fight feel epic in its scope, and this arrangement evokes those feelings of determination to overcome one last test of strength. What an arrangement, well done.

These songs are always so hard to get right because of how they're always accompanied by the battles they're for, and while you can't replicate the feeling that people had when they first fought the champion, you CAN interpret it thanks to not being restricted by gameboy chiptunes. You're free to pick whatever instruments you feel deserve to carry each part of the song, and the percussion is completely down to the individual composer. A LOT of composers just do not understand that, but you do, ND. Hoping to hear a Pokemon Trainer Red / Champion Lance battle in the future! <3

This is the single greatest rival. No snorefest "friendly competition" between buddies, this was an intense and visceral war between two of the region's top trainers. The time to finally determine who was the strongest, an earth shaking battle at the peak of the world!

funnily enough I used the original song as an alarm to wake me up many a year ago for a few years and yet I still love it XD(normally it would become the opposite, using a favorite song as an alarm for an extended period of time)
