I'm going to go broke watching your channel and wanting to get these cool planes 🙂. I imagine that if something like that caught some smooth steady wind, it would just sit there for a while as well. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Nate, a couple of hints from a glider flyer (both rc and full size) is to look at your wings, as you enter a thermal one wing will lift more than the other. This points to the side that the thermal is on. Also a pure rudder turn introduces drag, instead a turn should be coordinated between both the rudder and the ailerons which results in zero slip, reduced drag and better performance. Great to see a glider on the channel. 😃

Out of planes I love a glider. Had one like 25yrs ago. It used a long rubber band. It was awesome flouting in the sky. Not even moving at times. Then we’ll it crashed lol. If I ever get a plane again it would be this one. Thank you guys. God bless

Couldn't agree more about the birds. If I get out to our club field early mid morning I usually bring my powered glider. We have some large birds that thermal around our field. If their up my glider is first thing to go up. I find I have a better day of flying that way as well. Nothing like a glider to make you learn how to manage the energy of your aircraft!

That would be an amazing foundation for a long range FPV plane.

No, full flaps won't help you gliding. a few degrees once you hit the thermal and are curving it for some under camber on the wing, for even better effect mix in the ailerons too. And when you're chasing thermals you can give a few degrees up instead of down for some reflex and a faster glide. For landing you mix "full crow". Flap full down and ailerons full up. That'll take you down nice and steep. For flat curving in a thermal use rudder to turn in, and opposite aileron.
