The shadow dragons were the best thing ever, the ultimate enemy being a result of abuse and overuse of the Dragon Balls is pure genius and needs to be made official

I’ve always loved the idea of the Shadow Dragons. Finally, right at the end (at the time), we got a consequence for constantly using the Dragon Balls to fix our problems. Plus the final villain, Omega Shenron, is basically Shenron himself albeit corrupted. The main “fixer” of the series finally had enough.

Love how as soon as Bulma says "give those back now" BSS eyes light up the same as regular Shenron when he grants someones wish. He gave her want she wanted but not the way she wanted them

The idea of the very final villain of the anime being ones they unintentionally created themselves was appealing. In a way it's like a massive karma payback for all the Dragon Ball hunting that was done throughout DB, Z and GT.

Shame that it devolved into the Goku & Pan show from this episode onward. Would've preferred it if all the characters got involved. Oh well.

The Shadow Dragon Saga was a brilliant Book-ending to the Dragonball Franchise.
Think about it? Throughout the entire series, the characters became dependent on the Dragonballs to clean up everything and fix the earth after so much death and destruction. How many times were they used to bring the people of earth back to life?
So now, it turns out that Shenron and the Dragonballs themselves are the series' Ultimate Enemy. It's a scary and disturbing thought, and it also represents coming of age and learning to not be so dependent on them.

The only critique that I have about them is that the Shadow Dragons are a Negative Defect of all of the Wish-Granting. I mean after all this time, we just find out that if we use these things too much, we're gonna break them.

Honestly, it made sense. There had to be a consequence for how many times the dragonballs were overused during the series. You can't use something this powerful whenever you wanted and not expect a price at the end.

The Shadow Dragons were an awesome idea; they really bring the series full circle... the execution of their saga just wasn't what it could have been.

This is why I love GT. They took old concepts and went off from there instead pulling “Gods” out of nowhere. And they brought real consequences and higher stakes. Unlike Super.
