Growing lettuce and mint with no soil

Today we are changing out the lettuce bowl centerpiece you see in the introduction. I posted a picture of this on February 18, at which time it was full grown and transplanted from my small hydroponics set up. We have been eating from this bowl for over a month and now the temps in Florida are getting close to 90 degrees and the lettuce is starting to bolt. Check out how easy it is to change out and start over. Also in this video, we are going to try to use neoprene instead of the craft foam to hold our tender transplants. The craft foam is good, but let's see if the neoprene is better.

Where do the green containers come from? I have a larger yard now. We cut 14 leyland cypress, willow and fir trees last week. This must have been before the pool noodles?
