Shannon is so educated on different asian countries, it’s refreshing to hear her mention southeast asian countries because a lot of americans only know east asia! from a laotian person 💕

As an Asian person, it’s the looks and overall demeanor that’s a giveaway. It’s the hair style and the way they dress. It does get harder to differentiate if an Asian person has been westernized more. I’m ethnically Chinese but people usually think I’m Korean or Vietnamese.

I guessed everything because I live in the Philippines, lived in Indonesia, teach Chinese kids, watch Korean tv shows and movies and went to school with Koreans too, Thailand has a very obvious accent as does Vietnam, and we all know what Japanese sounds like! The American girl is so sweet and friendly.

The easiest for me to guess, were Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Philippines. I’m an Asian drama addict and so most of these languages, I’m pretty familiar with.
