You will have an opportunity to make your voice heard when you vote on local, state and national races this year.

The November 5 election less than three months away.

Today on 'Your Voice, Your Vote', members of the League of Women Voters' joins KATU’s Steve Dunn.

Today's guests are statewide experts on the subjects of ranked choice voting and Oregon student mock elections.

The league is a nationwide nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that works to empower voters, and one way the league does that is through education.

We may need more of that this year, with the city of Portland's change to a new method of voting.

Melanie Billings-Yun, from the Portland League of Women Voters, joins Steve Dunn to discuss ranked choice voting, which Portlanders will be using in November.

Billings-Yun was on the charter commission that developed the changes to Portland's new form of government, which includes the switch to ranked choice voting. How will Portlanders be better served by this new form of voting?
