For thousands of years, humans have sought refuge on Calvert Island, located just off the coast of British Columbia. They traversed its rugged cliffs, wandered through its misty forests, and waded in its cold coastal waters to gather crabs, mussels, and other sea creatures. These prints, the oldest ever found in North America, offer a glimpse into a scene from 13,000 years ago.

Eva of Naharon's skeleton was carbon-dated 13, 600 years ago, making it one of the oldest documented human finds in the Americas. Eva was found in Southern Mexico which would mean Natives were in the Americans thousands of years before that. I'm sure we will find more in the future that are older. I'm part Native and I have always been taught we have been here since the beginning of time. I have never believed we came through Siberia and into Alaska and the rest of the Americas.

These are not American they are the inhabitants of the land Americans would later turn into America.

The sea level was lower 13000 years ago, so these footprints are 120m below sea level?

Evidence for humans living 24, 000 years ago at the Bluefish Caves near Old Crow in Yukon was first found in the late 70s. the idea was not well accepted at the time because Clovis first was predominant. Subsequent work has verified the findings though.

To uncover the truth of the 1st humans in America, you would have do marine archaeology at depths up to 400 feet or so. Good luck!

The americas were populated from the south via the ocean traveler's. The Amazon tribes have DNA from aboriginal Australian's the first wave out of Africa. The people who came over the land bridge were one of the last migrations

I read elsewhere, that the so called “ice free corridor” through the ice field. The ice free corridor was misidentified because a prominent archaeologist was studying pollen samples in the area. He mistook the layers as those from an earlier ice-age time

I have not abandoned the Clovis paradigm because I think some of the people in America did come that way, some of them perhaps after many years in Beringa while terra firma lasted. The coastal migration hypothesis is absolutely a strong possibility. There were plenty of resources to exploit on the water and the coastal land. I feel the jury is still well and truly out on who was first (not necessarily Clovis) and there is a lot of water still to flow under the bridge yet. Thanks: a very interesting video.
