This is actually crazy. I’ve known Will since he was about 10 or 11, when he and his older sister ran with our youth team. My brother is good friends and former teammates with Will and our families are close. To see him progress over the years has been absolutely jaw-dropping and now to have a video on him by one of my favorite creators…what a day.

I ran with Will while I was in high school. He is without a doubt, changing the course of the sport. He is extremely hardworking and the most humble person you’ll ever meet. I’ve seen him grow and improve from his youth running days until now and what he’s doing is unbelievable!! WILL THE THRILL!!!!

1999 my teammate set the national record indoors at the old armory running 1.19.8 . We ran 7:43 indoor for 2 mile relay and now this guy runs over 4 seconds faster. That’s insane and my teammate was Ali Abiola who also ran 1:51. Insane what kids are running these days

A lot of people are talking about he’s fast in a few events, but there’s also the fact that he’s a state championship level xc runner. Our coaches begged him to run cross country and he helped lead the team to state, then he decided not to run the state meet to preserve himself

Since the 600 isn’t a frequently run event, his future is probably in the 800 and 1500/1600. Just saw he’s committed to UGA. Going to be training with Matt Boling. Sick!!

Truly an incredible performance. I know that Michael Carter obliterated the high school shot put record raising it from 72’3” to 81’3”— that’s over a 12% improvement! He went on to win Olympic silver (his daughter won gold) and had an illustrious NFL career.
