Military-themed episodes of The Ranveer Show are always well-received. In this episode, we present Major Abhay Sapru, one of the most eloquent military veterans I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with. Para-SF podcasts are something that always blows my mind. One thing that always outshines in such conversations is the killer special forces mindset.

Commissioned in 1988, Abhay Sapru volunteered for the elite Special Forces. During his decade-long stint with the Indian Army, he served in areas like Sri Lanka, Kashmir, and the North-East of India. He currently works for a private bank and alongside, is an established author, having written two novels about his combat experiences.

In this episode and my interaction with Major Abhay Sapru, we spoke about the situation in Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu, what had really happened, and what it takes to be a part of the Special Forces. I am so sorry to say Ranveer. This show was completely one sided. He failed to say what attrocoties the IPKF did to the local Jaffnas. Poor them they initially welcomed the Indian army with garlands and food. But IPKF did worse things than the Sri Lankan army did to the Jaffna locals. And that's why LTTE turned against the Indian army.

Honestly as an American, who’s done a lot of research on the Sri Lankan civil war the I think Tamil Tigers how they were organized and run in the early 90s would’ve been a nightmare for any conventional army on earth lol

Srilankan Tamilans considered India has their own country, but here Indian army done unfaithful things to Srilankan Tamilans. Prabhakaran already mentioned in his speech that his role model is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

My father served in IPKF (Assam Regiment). He called it the most dangerous engagement he ever had. Compared to Northeast and J&K where the police and administration is under the govt. Sri Lanka was the Wild West and the LTTE was really good at Counter Intelligence and many a times they became sitting ducks. My father said LTTE had the guts they didn't give a damn if we were Indian Army. Some still call it "India's Vietnam".

The root cause of the SriLankan Tamil problem is the apartheid rules against Tamils and India blundered into it due to the stupidity of Rajiv Gandhi, it was a useless conflict for India

a close relative of mine was in IPKF and fought with LTTE in Jaffna. Its use to send shivers down the spine when he tells stories about it.

The Tamil people of Jaffna are some of the most smartest, efficient, resourceful and resilient people in the world. They are mostly Hindus & some Christians. Jayawardene was a cunning fox, Rajiv Gandhi was gullible, he paid the price for it.
Sending in IPKF was a mega blunder.

As a Tamil who living in north Jaffna, I could explain more what did this Indian (peace) keeping soldiers in our villages. They rapped our own sisters, mothers even pregnant women also. I had a bad experience. Even in Jaffna hospital they made shootout and killed more than 60 doctors nurses and patients. What is this ? This is the way you keep peace ? I can’t forget it. After that event exactly 8 years I go and join that same ltt.

I lived in Jaffna when IPKF came in. The atrocities IPKF commited were horrendous, they were evils and barbarians.

He is the first Indian army officer who has admitted to the fact that the tigers were created by the Raw. Trained by the Indian army. I have spoken to a number of people who are ex service men, who have told me this .. but this is the first time an officer has gone on record
