Dr Bob brings you SCP Foundation Safe Class object, SCP-723 Aging Staircase Animation.

SCP 723 is a spiral stone staircase, hewn from ordinary limestone, contained within a ruined church located in England.
When ascended, SCP723 induces rapid aging in the case of living subjects, and decay in the case of non-living materials. This effect seems to initiate after the fourth or fifth step has been climbed, each subsequent step inducing further aging or decay respectively.

I like how at the end, Dr. Bob walks out of the room he's in and heads down the staircase. More evidence that he is himself anomalous.

A staircase that ages the people who walk up it is a staircase made for immortals. The staircase is connected to an abandoned church. With the religious connections that the church makes, SCP-723 could possibly be a staircase to heaven that only immortal beings such as angels can go through.

Now this is an SCP I definitely don't wanna encounter. Not only does it rapidly age things, living or not, but living things that do the aging just keep walking up the stairs even if they don't want to and are actually disinterested/basically uncaring about the fact that they're rapidly aging.

Rapid aging is probably one of the most effective body horror scenarios for me, despite being one of the simplest: It's something that, ideally, you're going to have to go through, but at an unreasonable pace. I think what makes it particularly bad is that it's killing you, but by degrees. It's stealing TIME away from you.

These SCPs just keep getting better and better. The accents were well done and the animation just keeps getting higher quality.

He does such a good job capturing the realistic emotions of a human, and make them seem like normal people. It's crazy, every time I write a story, I barely could capture human emotions and rationality unlike Dr. Bob.

Dr bob is so powerful that he's the only entity that most SCP's fear.

I swear SCPs are the most random things ever. It's why I love the SCP foundation though!

"Don't grow up too fast, or else you will miss out on everything" Someone once said that to me, and this SCP anomaly proves that saying. Dr. Bob, you are a genius my guy!

Petition for Dr Bob to make a whole SCP movie. What I'd do to see a 1 hour animation made like this

723 is perhaps meant to serve as an allegory for the journey of life, a winding spiral staircase that is simply one-way; the way of all things to be born, grow old, die, decompose, and disappear. With the fact it is all in a non-euclidian spiral staircase that could rival SCP-087, and you have a staircase that theoretically goes on forever, but factually ends when the individual does; with the world going on without them, leaving future generations to ponder what awaits them in the beyond. Every Thanatophobe on Earth would shudder at this.

The British accent was a really nice touch in the narrative. Great job as always!

All this horror and the thing that hit me the hardest as a Londoner was the "spending 10 quid on alcohol"

This is a very interesting SCP with room open for further exploration.

*Question 1:*
What happens if a person enters the staircase from the top through the damaged tower roof and descends downwards towards the ground-floor?

*Question 2:*
Couldn't they just drill small holes in the wall at vertical one-yard-intervals in order to be able to push small exploratory cameras through them?

*Question 3:*
How about recruiting friendly SCPs, that are ageless and/or immune to time-related damage, as test-subjects?

After a certain point in your life you just accept that you're going to grow old and it doesn't phase you any more and you realize the only way to go if forward. Sometimes that point is after five steps upwards.

Thanks for the video Dr Bob!

This video is about a staircase where, as you ascend it, you get older. This is technically true for every staircase in the world.

I'm curious what would happen if they sent an anomalous person who is immortal up the stairs. Would they keep on ascending forever?

Interesting SCP. It almost seems like a "stairway to heaven". As they ascend, they grow older. Reaching closer to to the top, to the supposed "afterlife" as they grow old and die. This SCP being located at a church, could perhaps be a connection to "heaven" or an "afterlife". The odd behavior of the people who enter the SCP where they feel compelled to ascend is also notable. Perhaps a metaphor to how some people would like to live forever. To be immortal or to fight against time despite how futile it seems. The calm behavior while they age might be related to how people become wiser with age and accumulated experience, where people might come to terms with how their lives are near their end. The one thing which might not be consistent, might be how the clothes don't age, but that might be a narrative loophole. A real shame that not much info can be collected from this SCP due to it's time-altering anomaly, meaning the tests conducted on this SCP is minimal as well. Either way, that's just my interpretation of it.
