Показать описание
Goya Foods documentary, ceo, warehouse, commercial, recipes. How Goya Foods Infiltrated Into Every Latino Home | Goya Food History
In 1936, a Spanish immigrant purchased the name “Goya” from a sardine salesman for 1 dollar; in 2010, Goya Foods broke a billion dollars in sales. With nothing more than a small storefront on Lower Manhattan’s Duane Street, some olive oil, and a couple of cans of sardines, Don Prudencio Unanue and his wife Carolina pledged to the growing Latin population of 1900s New York that “If It’s Goya, It Has To Be Good.” This promise led what started as nothing more than a husband and wife selling authentic Spanish foods to support their four sons, to steadily grow into an edible empire plagued with politics, family feuds and lots of rice and beans. This is the story of how America’s most politically polarizing bag of rice and beans infiltrated every Latino household and nearly got thrown out with just a few words.
