China's Xi Must Stop Fentanyl Flow to US, Says Daines | Bloomberg The Pulse

An American senator said China must halt the flow of fentanyl ingredients into the US before any trade negotiations, a demand that clouds the prospect of imminent leaders’ talks to ease tensions between the world’s two largest economies.
Steve Daines, a close ally of President Donald Trump, laid out the condition in meetings with Chinese officials in Beijing over the weekend.
That contrasts with China’s claim that it has already forcefully cracked down on the fentanyl trade.

90% or more than that are made in house just like most drugs. Pharmaceutical drug Fentanyl was created in Belgium in the 60s but US Pharma have made it popular and easier to make.

China has twice suspended cooperation on tackling the issue of fentanyl as a result of disagreements over its genocide in Xinjiang and constant harassment of Taiwan. It simply sees the US as an enemy. And China takes delight in seeing fentanyl cost the US nearly $1.5 trillion annually – the equivalent to 7 per cent of the US’s GDP.
