Don't be so hard on yourself about flipping the truck. Let me tell you a story. In 1995 (yes I'm old) my significant other was coming home from Battle Creek Michigan from a hunting trip. He had almost the same truck. He fell asleep went off the road & overcorrected. Flipped upside down. The guys behind him saw it and stopped. After telling the guys how he had overcorrected the last thing he said before he died was, "get this damn truck off of me!" The truck fell on top of him and the weight of the truck was the only thing keeping him alive.The truck was holding pressure on his aorta. When several guys started lifting on the truck, he died instantly. The doctors said his chest was smashed and he was going to die regardless. He didn't know he was dying and spoke like he was in no pain. We had a 2-year-old child. She does not remember her dad but she remembers the funeral. You're blessed to be beautiful and alive love

My niece flipped her grandmother's car. She had gone off the road by just a few inches, into the soft shoulder. Instead of slowing down first, she steered the car back onto the pavement at the same speed. It caused the car to flip and she had to crawl out the window. She was okay but the car was totaled. If you ever go off the road into the soft shoulder it is important to slow down before trying to get back onto pavement. So many people are not aware of this!

He’s lying to you a crew cab comes in a 5 1/2 foot. The double cab comes in 6.7 and you can get an 8 foot bed.

I have a 2023 1794 edition Tundra with a three inch lift and new wheels . I wouldn’t change for anything after driving it for over two years. I had a SR5 Tundra before and again can’t beat them as far as dependable and parts available.

Cloth seats with dogs for sure. There are many companies that make custom fit seat covers. Long bed tundra if you want my 2 cents. Especially if your going to flatbed.

My reason for cloth seats is I live in Phoenix. In the summer, cloth is cooler than leather and surprisingly, they’re easier to maintain. And the issue with dogs on cloth seats can be overcome. I use a blanket for them. I’ve got a GSD mix and a Sheltie. Never had them rip up my seats when there’s a blanket on it (wool blankets).

Be careful with the tundras. They’ve had issues with the new V6 twin turbos they have in them.

I like the Land Cruiser. All kinds of roof top options and its safer for you and the dogs. Makes the most sense to me. You have a good head on your shoulders and I am Confident you will make the best decision for you and the pups. Good luck!

If your going to put a flatbed with camper. Get the cab you want and the put the flat bed you want.

I am doing the same thing with my overlander. 2007 Ram 5500 crew cab 4x4. Stretched the fame 3' to put 18' x 8' x 9' box on it, adding a 10' x 8' x 4' granny's' attic for the master. I stretched the frame so I could have a crew cab with the 18' box otherwise would have had to go with a 16'. There is still 2'3" hanging off the end of the truck frame rail. Needed the extra 2' and crew cab to implement my plan for when my 3 - 2 leggeds came to visit. So basically I'm building my truck to handle 2 humans, 2 halflings, 4 bikes, and my KTM.

PS. I have cloth seats, will never have leather seat again. lived out of my 2001 Ram 3500 with a dog and he tore up my leather with his claws (and yes I had his nail trimmed) and like chrisg1043 stated leather is hot though I live in Houston.
