This movie wrecked me emotionally. Especially the where Littlefoot's mom died, and then he saw his own shadow and thought it was his family?? I CANNOT HANDLE IT 😭😭

I learned a lot about life and loss as a five year old sitting in a theater in 1988. I wish modern films for younger people wouldn't underestimate their audience so much.

One herd had only a single baby. Their LAST hope for the future. And they called him Littlefoot. All that remained of his herd was his mother grandmother and his grandfather. He knew them by sight, by scent and by their love. He knew they would be together always.

As a kid watching this movie I didn't cry- but watching it as an adult, well it was very emotional & powerful. They simply do not make them like they used to. Period.

Best part at 5:40. One of the most beautiful musical scores ever put to an animated film.

5:40 when the flute begins to play then the harmonny of strings come in. That part is the reason music exists.

I will be 32 in less than 2 months. I watched this film non-stop as a kid. I remember asking my mom to put in in our "rewinder" and saying "again mom, again". This would happen multiple times a day. No tears were ever drawn as a kid. Now I hear the 1st few notes of this score and its a waterfall. My favourite movie as a kid, followed closely by Charlotte's Web. Both tear-jerkers now that I have trouble bringing myself to watch because of the amount of tears they force out of me.

I feel sadness at the end of films like Braveheart, Gladiator and 300. Testosterone-fueled epics where our hero dies. But Land Before Time, a "child's film", reaches deeper down and touches something primal. Its power is on a much higher level. I am not ashamed to admit that this film (and score) effect me in a very profound way. I hope one day I can share this with kids of my own.

"Beautiful" is not enough to describe how incredible this musical score is! I still can't believe this genius has passed away. This movie, this score was basiclly my childhood and I dare to say this; this is even BETTER than Disney-scores!

YES, I FINALLY SAID IT!!!

3:40 was always my favorite part of the song. It represented that feeling of curiosity and naivety that we all felt as a child at some point. Plus, Ducky's cute awe and expression when she sees the butterfly always gives me a chuckle. Rest in peace, Judith Barsi.

I absolutely love the section at 1:52. I watched this film as a kid, and as an adult, I am only now fully appreciating the depth and scale of imagination that James Horner evokes in his music. Imagine being a kid again - the wonder of MASSIVE dinosaurs and the nostalgia of a heartfelt journey.
