Boss sounds like home. The Julia sounds like a scenic route on the way.

I like sound of both. Right now I'd go for the Julia pedal just for more control over the sound.

Both are great, but love the warmth en depth of the CE-2

I got a Julia recently and prefer it to the MIJ CE-2 I used to own. Great pedal!

Each suited for different applications, I love each 💯

I’m starting to think that a pedals input impedance has a bigger role in sound than its chipset. I have a played a few of the classic modulation pedals (ce-2, phase 90, etc), and some reissues and other modern takes on the effects. The one constant I find is that the newer pedals all sound brighter.

Both are great chorus pedals in their own right. The Julia is kind of a lo-fi, tape-type warble/vibrato blended into your clean signal. The CE-2 on the other hand is the classic, warm analog chorus of the 80s we all know and recognize when we hear it. Again, both do their own thing and do it really well. (I’m personally partial to the CE-2) :)

Boss is a Classic chorus but The julia Walrus is The future! 😎

Love the comparison, but I do wish that the LED on the CE-2 worked or was brighter. Since the light on the Julia is always on it was hard to tell which pedal you were playing at times. Perhaps in the editing it could be labeled someway for future videos? Otherwise, keep doing great demos!

I'm surpised how close the Julia was to the CE-2. I think the Julia tone has a more modern character.

I like the Julia better personally. The lag knob and the vibrato on it are just better IMO, but I am disappointed that there is no stereo on it. That said though...The Boss Chorus, Super Chorus, Chorus Ensemble etc are surprisingly damn good and for the price are great. Live, I would use the Julia though.

Now I understand why CE-2 is a classic legend! It sounds so smooth, blend perfectly with original guitar tone while not change the original tone much. The attack is clear. And it has just 2 simple knobs. AND it does not even have mix knob! It will not destroy Julia, but, to be honest, it sounds much better!

They’re both great. The walrus is a bit more versatile, however with the walrus I found I had to play with the settings a bit to get it sound the way I liked (which honestly didn’t take too long). The boss sounds great with everything at half, it sounds a little warmer and smoother compared to the walrus. Personally I prefer the boss as it’s just more simpler.

Julia for one reason… you get a vibrato pedal too. Most listeners and audiences won’t hear a difference especially in a live setting unless they are a gear head.. that goes for almost all pedals. The boss is so good though.

Julia all the way
you can do do much with it

Julia all the way. The depth and dimension of the Julia sounds so much better than the CE2 which sounds flat in comparison.

Just bought the CE-2W which also has a CE-1 chorus and CE-1 Vibrato - I was looking for the Julia originally but they didn't have it and I think the CE-2W is pretty close.

Julia sounds more like the Ce-1. Still great!

For this demo the settings must be same!
