FENIX A320 - Cold & Dark Cockpit Setup | Tutorial Series Part 1

Welcome to the first in a new series of tutorial videos taking you on a full flight from Manchester to Prague. Each of these tutorials is designed and based on real world procedures used by A320 pilots around the globe to make your flight simulator experiences as realistic as possible.

Episode 1:- This episode looks at setting up the cockpit from a cold and dark state, getting the aircraft ready to start boarding and introducing how we use the new EFB (tablet). This includes setting up all the instrument and overhead panels ready to begin setting up your MCDU.

I'd do such videos with the mouse pointer on... so that the watchers know what are you talking about when you're showing overhead panel.

Discovered you some months ago, had a blast of a time with your tutorials and live streams so that I switched from the Cessna Longitude to the A320 and now to the Fenix for the most of the time. What an enjoyable aircraft and piece of software (I much prefer over the A32NX despite their efforts). Still so much to learn and discover! Thank you Gavin! 👨‍✈🛫

Thank my friend for making your tutorials always so "Easy 'n' Pleasing" voice of yours. I'm in the middle of making up my mind if or if not to get me the FENIX A320 or not. But as much as both you and me love the flying of the F.B.W. version, I've either been having problems in just seeing it in the hanger at the beginning of the Sim. or having terrible time with my THRUSTMASTER T Flight Hotas X Taxing it, it basically goes "Hear, There & Everywhere" like that song McCartney sang once up on a time. Can't keep a straight (beat) direction afther the Taxi ways, but as long as I've managed to take her in to the air, everything seems to be all right 🙄🤗 I really would love to see your demo of how you would set it up especially if you could demonstrate it with the T-Flight Hotas X version, (I know you had I think the 16 or 1700 version)

I recently bought the Fenix A320 and use your excellent video's to learn setting up the plane. Even the external tablet is working perfectly, which makes the preparation much easier !
The only thing that I can not figure out is how to show the passenger manifest.
Could it be removed by Fenix or do I overlook something ?

In the real world, the Wx radar would be confirmed off before powering up, as well as at the pedestal checks. The landing gear lever would be confirmed down and the wipers would be confirmed off as well.

Gavin, thanks for the tutorial. Can you give an indication of the "times to..." you use the plane. Ex: Wheels of ground time needs to be 12pm. When do you start boarding? When do you pushback? etc
