Hi friends!

This video marks the first official week of training for my 100k race in July. I share all of my runs for the week and later in the video I share my goals and focuses with this training plan. I am so exited for all the adventures that await and all the mountains we’ll explore during this training block and this summer in general!

Sorry for a lot of cuts in this video- learned a lot about filming while running/hiking and to be more conscious of how heavy my breathing is LOL.

Either way, thank you again for watching, liking and subscribing- you’re a bad ass and you are loved!

See ya in my next adventure!

Gotta say, your channel is awesome! You must have a career in broadcasting, you're so well spoken and relaxed on camera. Best of luck with your training! The trails look amazing out there!

That's excellent, thank you! It's useful to hear your plan for your 100km race. I'm also on about 10 hours a week training, but I have a bit more gym, and a bit less elevation in mine. I do about 42 miles a week. Good luck!

wow....I've never seen that kind of sick looking black squirrel with those pointy ears. That was so evil looking. Good work. The importance of variety trail runs as part of a training block is very informative to me, tho I do training circles not blocks. Lady loves her "Ciele" hat.

Looking forward to following your adventure toward the 100k race! I really enjoyed the scenery and wildlife in this video and your “S” sounds were on point 😎

Looking forward to your training and race! I just attempted my first 100k. I dropped at 45 mile (3 loops) due to 2 things: info on the race was sketchy, so I'd only trained for a third of the vert, and I didn't take them seriously when they said they only supplied candy and chips at the aid stations. I've always trained and raced on real food, and sugar just wasn't enough to carry me through after 30 miles. I would definitely recommend trying a few runs with real food, not just gels or drinks, and seeing if it makes a difference for you, too!

When I was focused on marathon distance I got a coach who gave me a training plan every week. There was never any uncertainty about what run I was doing on any given day, I just got up every morning and did the run at the distance and pace prescribed, didn’t have to think about it. Think I missed 2 or maybe 3 runs in 18 weeks on days I wasn’t feeling well. The reward, the race was great and I was pleased with my performance.

This is great and I look forward to following along! My longest run is also about 50k. I’ve got 2 marathons coming up and am debating a 100 miler next year. Best wishes!!!

Love the video and good luck with your ultra training!
Just curious if you have some favorite high alpine trails for running? I’ve done some shorter stuff in RMNP in the mummy range and around Longs Peak trail head, but wonder if you have some trails you like to run in the area you’d recommend.
Thanks!

Amazing ! I love watching your videos, they are so inspiring! Do you do any supplemental workouts to aid your running? Strength/Yoga? How frequently and what is your routine like with that. Although I know running hills and on soft surfaces probably builds strength and reduces risk of injury

Could you share your fuel consumption for your long runs?
