I remember Memnarch being a real scary dude when I got into EDH in Gatecrash with my Momir Vig deck, but we have since been spoiled for mono blue artifact commanders with mana sinks, for example: Urza.

I feel like Uril suffered more from their refusal to reprint him, going from his original in Alara all the way to Double Masters 20-frickin-22. So new people weren’t seeing or grabbing him.

Wrexial is so close to being great. Unblockable against the two colors with the best instants and sorceries, big enough to play both offense and defense really well, but does nothing when it hits the board and depends too heavily on what your opponents are doing. Still, when you can get the ball rolling... well, they don't call him Wrecks Y'all for nothing.

My Uril deck still goes hard ngl. Used to go to the same store every week with jumbo commander. Used to be so oppresive he sided wing shards and edicts just to beat my deck.

Memnarch is a BEAST in cube draft. When games go long and you got nothing to do with your mana, you can just steal everyone’s stuff

The main reason why no one plays Khartus anymore was the legend-rule change where it only affects your own permanents. So get to clone Khartus and steal it indefinitly.

I still play a Memnarch deck. But I only cast him when I know I can combo off and just take everything.

Memnarch was a fun villain commander... But not for everyone else. Villain commanders lose to bias. Nobody wants their stuff touched so you die first.
