The beauty of the M6 and having the lens cap on is the flashing (to the right) red-light arrow. As long as the battery is good you’ll get the warning.

Note that the frame lines are auto selected by the camera when a lens is mounted. You can wiggle the lever to change the frame lines but as soon as you let go, it springs back to the initial position. There’s no way to permanently choose different frame lines.

When you rewind your film in the M6, do you find that it gets harder to wind as you get more and more film back into the canister? Almost spring loaded such that if you let go of the rewind handle it will spin back in the opposite direction? Thanks.

Please don't load a rapid film loading M like that. All you have to do is drop the film in, put the lead in the tulip, and put the baseplate on. That's it. The baseplate does all of the pushing down and aligning of the film for you. There's really no need to touch the film or try to jam the film in with your fingers, especially near the back door or gate. That's how M's get broken. I really wish people would stop showing film loading like this because it just creates problems. Load the film, then fire the camera twice. You should notice the rewind crank spin a little bit, and 99 percent of the time, it will. If for some reason it doesn't, just take the baseplate off and do it again. Sorry if this sounds snobby at all, just trying to pass on information since this is how its written in all Leica manuals and I have never had a problem loading my film.

I have seen that some people recommend using 2L76 batteries instead of LR44 to avoid battery leakage, what do you think about this?

I ❤️ my M6 - despite its faults. Always carry spare batteries if you rely on the meter. It is very easy to flatten them by half pressing the shutter in your bag. The meter is only locked off when the shutter is set to B. LEDs are the same brightness all the time which means they glare at you under some conditions. The range finder window is prone to sticky fingers. Etc etc. But tripping the shutter sparks joy every time!

With the M6, If you try to take a meter reading with the lens cap on, the left LED will blink, telling you your lens cap is still on the lens. All you need to do is make sure your battery is good, and pay attention to the LEDs in the viewfinder. If you ignore those LEDs, the camera will not stop you from making this mistake.
