A great bass player is now in heaven, giving the best rock concert to God.
This is a tribute to Toto bass player Mike Porcaro, with a song I consider perfect to say goodbye to a legend.
REST IN PEACE MIKE, WE LOVE YOU.

I'm a professional bass player because of Mike. He knew how to ask the song "how do you want your bass line?" and always put exactly what the song asked for. To me, the best bass player ever. Miss you, Mike. As David Paich once said, "there ain't no groove like a Mike Porcaro's groove".

Great tribute.I was hoping somebody would eventually post a photo/video of Mike while he was in his battle with ALS just to see he was fighting it as best as he could.I remember watching the Jason Becker documentary years ago where his story started out similarly to Mike's except for the fact that Mike made it through years of session work, recording Toto albums and ultimately touring with Toto for many years before the disease was diagnosed & subsequently began to debilitate him whereas Jason's ALS hit him way too early in life before he even had a chance to do those same things. It was so tragic, sad & shocking seeing him & Jeff pass so young, especially Jeff.In respect to Jeff's death, his former wife stated she had came in the house looking for him because he had been outside for awhile spraying their yard for pests & as she rounded the corner, Jeff was lying on the couch and when she asked him what he was doing, he said babe I can't feel/move my arms and when he tried to get up, his legs just gave out from under him and he crumpled to the floor. He then asked her where the boys were & once she replied, he begged her to make sure the boys didn't see him like that so she made sure they didn't after she called 911.At the hospital, the Dr told her the odor of pesticide eminating from his body was overwhelming and some minutes later, he basically took his last breath.

An unbelievably gifted family the Porcaros were between Papa Joe, Steve, Mike & Jeff. The artists/songs/albums they worked on in total counting all four of the Porcaros includes your who's who of the music industry.Jeffs contributions alone requires 10 wiki pages and there's no telling just how many pages in total would be required to list the accomplishments of all four put together.
What a loss, but at the same time, what a legacy these guys left for us to enjoy.RIP Papa Joe, Mike and Jeff.Youll never be forgotten and thanks for what you left us with.

Fitting tribute to somebody so missed by his bandmates.. Love this song.. i just feel the sadness in the voice of band’s vocalist/ lead guitarist/ composer, my idol Steve Lukather. Toto’s been one of my favorite bands.

I planted two new expensive blueberry bushes in my garden today in Mike's honour. This song is really nice. Steve sings with such gentle love and conviction. R.I.P. Mike. You are with Jeff now.

My heart burned if me is thinking at the beginning from toto. Over this time the music from all the players stay by side in my life. Rip Jeff. We see us on the other side.

Shed no tears, the Brothers Porcaro got to make beautiful music for the masses, inspiring millions. They also got fame, fortune, heartbreak, and probably all life has to offer.  If that lasted for eternity, who would appreciate it? Instead of sadness, celebrate said Totoans for their gifts, listen, and remember.

I remember a radio interview with Mike when they were recording the Tambu album and he was particularly excited about a song Lukather had written with Randy Goodrum that he couldn't wait to record. Turned out to be this song.
