Let's Play Norland | Kaiden Ironcoast Gameplay Episode 1 | How to Play Beginner Guide Series

Join me as I play Norland as the Kaiden Ironcoast! Norland is a colony sim similar to Rimworld or Stranded: Alien Dawn, however it takes place in a fictional medieval land. You control a noble family as they navigate life using diplomacy, trade, intrigue, and warfare. You'll also need to manage their personal relationships, including marriage and raising children.

This Let's Play series will be using a beginner guide format, with a goal of teaching new players how to play while also entertaining with the developing story of Ragnar, Aslaug, & Guthrum, as well as their descendants.

This first episode covers family and character creation, skills, traits, talents, game setup / perimeters, gathering resources / goods, construction, character needs, finances, farming & soil fertility, trading, hunting, and knowledge & research. You'll learn what you should be doing on day 0 and day 1.

Note: I did forget to increase the price of flour, so the peasants were probably buying that instead of Rutabagas. This isn't entirely negative, since they'll be happier eating that, however selling flour for only four gold is much too cheap, so definitely wasn't optimum.

great game. My first playthrough ended in chaos where my peasants started killing each others based on black magic rumor and then my neighbour said that I am coward so I died in sadness :D

I've done 4 playthroughs where I struggled with food every time, for some reason I thought the fertile areas was the ONLY place you could place your farms.
Saved me a lot of heartache with just that part haha.

You can tell your Lords to eat and drink when they get low. Click on them and then the symbol above their stats.
Will only appear when they are low/critical.

The warehouses in the beginning for more builders is working out pretty well with 5 makha prisoners on night one?, and hopefully save the queen on day 3 after some fleshwolf hunts,

and a good deal for 12 flour a day at about 10 gp each, and possibly a way of getting more gaurds with freeing the prisoners, and beating back the horde, lol?

Enjoying series, lot of nuance in the details of economy how things set at start, quiet a few of improvement prob needed, but seems cozy
until the wolves or hordes attack, some seems unbalanced but yeah Horde seems best turned off atm.

Loving the art of the game and the silly stories that come about due to actions and events. 👍
