This happened to me by the owner, a high end lawyer, of the estate I worked at. His boat capsized in the cold Puget sound. Wife said to ignore. We saved dog first. Then called coast guard. Owner started to swim in and then stopped about 200 feet from shore. He was holding an oar. I swam out in the 53° water and brought him to shore. Saved his ass. It took 45 minutes for coast guard to arrive. I got a thank you gift and was laid off a few weeks later.

Getting too close with your superiors might put you in a position where you know something about them they find uncomfortable so it will impede your growth or even lose you your job... dont worry day i work in construction 😂 this stuff doesn't apply here, but i still keep a reasonable distance with managment

We have a saying in Arabic “if you’re generous with a generous man you will own him if you are generous with selfish man he will try to own you”, remember guys if you are nice with a person who are not known to be nice he will think he can’t repay you so either give him a reason to not have to repay you “ I didn’t do a thing that was xyz who did the heavy lifting ”or face the consequences of him trying to undermine you or your actions so he don’t have to repay you.
