Google Pixel Fold Review

Google’s first folding phone impresses with a very useable 5.8” (non-skinny) outer OLED display, landscape orientation 7.6” OLED folding inner display and a trio of extremely capable rear cameras. The 5G (sub6 and mmWave) phone is available unlocked and through major carriers. It runs Android on the Tensor G2 CPU and has enough juice to make it through the day thanks to a 4821 mAh battery. Lisa, you are so awesome! You’re the ONLY tech reviewer on YouTube that literally places a device’s primary competitor right next to the device being reviewed and get extensive b-roll footage of how they look next to each other… AND showing the exact same app operating on both phones at the same time while on-camera.

Not only that, but I’m super happy you waited at least a month after the Pixel Fold was released to market before creating your review, which means most major bugs will usually get squashed with updates, especially with heating, battery life, and general stability. These were issues mentioned in early reviews of the Pixel Fold. This was an excellent decision!!

Finally a unbiased review, usually the reviews just focuses on the price and the chip gets a bit hot, .nice to see a review focusing on the important things like the form factor, .camera and software experience. Great job.

@2:45 This is why I love my Surface Duo 2. It can be held in a perfectly usable phone posture most of the time, and then switch to two screens when I want it to be. And BTW I STILL get comments on how the Duo 2 is! But... if Microsoft doesn't announce a Duo 3 soon (which probably won't ever happen) this Pixel Fold is lined up to be my next phone in the near future. The Pixel's camera goodness would be a welcome upgrade over the Duo, especially in low light. Thanks for the overview!

I love your reviews! I'm a Z Fold 4 user. I agree that the cover screen of the Pixel is much more usable but I'm sticking with the Fold 4 for stylus support, Dex and more multi-tasking capabilities. I'm grateful for the Pixel Fold - the competition is healthy. Samsung was starting to get a bit lazy. Hopefully this will push them to offer a more usable cover screen.
