Lucifer is a pretty good example of depression as disorder; forgetful, prone to hyperfixation, difficulty reaching out to others despite desperately desiring interpersonal connection.

I'm choosing to believe Lucifer patiently waited outside the doors of the hotel for that entire hour to ensure he'd be there the exact moment he said he would.

Lucifer stole EVERY scene he was in. Had me wheezing from his introduction, to his height, to him and Alastor’s beef, just EVERYTHING. I love Jeremy Jordan’s voice for him, he’s my official new favorite 😂

I love how we instantly get the contrast between Charlie feeling like her dad is only calling when he needs something or is bored, and Lucifer being SO HAPPY to hear from HER instead of being the one reaching out. He DOES care and just is very bad at expressing that/talking to her…but it had the effect of making her feel isolated from him regardless of intent.

2:49 “Take that depression!” Is such a relatable statement 😭

I'd never think that my favorite interpretation of Lucifer would be a silly recluse who has a rubber duck hyperfixation but here we are

The most wholesome thing about this episode is that Charlie added all of the "egg bois" to her contacts list, despite the fact that she has has no on-screen interactions with them nor are they even official guests at the hotel. She's just THAT nice.

we were all expecting the evil ruler of hell, instead we got a guy with depression and hiperfixation who cares for his family, it really took me by surprise and i like this Lucifer.

We all thought Lucifer would be a bad boy and scary, but he’s actually a combo of Varian and Winn Schott. Plus, he literally just wants to be there for his daughter.

*TAKE THAT, DEPRESSION!*

Somehow I get the feeling Lucifer was standing outside the door for a whole hour in anticipation that Charlie would open the door XD

As an introverted person, recently going through divorce, with a fixation on collecting rubber ducks and difficulties socializing, Lucifer is one of my favorite characters.

I knew Lucifer was going to be more goofy than sinister. I even knew about his rubber duck obsession. But despite that, I was still caught off guard. 🤣

2:38 I like the detail that once Lucifer infers that Charlie is the one inviting *him* and not the other around, he jumps at the chance since it removes the responsibility of asking away from *him*

We see the same thing happen in the flashback. Lucifer only wants to bond with Charlie when she shows interest in him because he is too scared to approach her himself.

2:55 After the trust exercises, everyone knows who the general of the hotel is. 😂

I really like how Hazbin portrays the often forgotten aspects of long-term depression, but doesn't proceed to make Lucifer the victim, here. Depression DOES affect your memory, it does make you seek out immediate smaller pleasures, and have a heightened rejection complex. It's one of the reason why he absolutely begins to JUMP when Charlie says that *she* needs his help, at least until he hears what it is.

Edit: Great news! MOST OF US NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP! :'D

To people saying that Lucifer was a bad dad for never showing up for Charlie after Lilith left - this here seems to indicate that he / his depression had him believing she didn't want to actually see him. Talk to him maybe, but wasn't comfortable being around him.
Miscommunication more than daddy issues.
