Welcome to the Regular Guy YouTube channel, where we share our incredible journey of finding the perfect place to call home in the Philippines! Over the course of 4 months, we explored 9 cities, each offering its unique charm and character. From bustling urban centers to quaint villages and breathtaking beaches, we left no stone unturned in our quest for the ideal destination.

The Philippines, known for its stunning natural beauty, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality, captured our hearts from the very beginning. We were enchanted by the diversity of this archipelago nation, which boasts over 7,000 islands, each with its distinct allure. Our adventure started in the capital city of Manila, a bustling metropolis that seamlessly blends modernity with a rich historical heritage. From exploring the iconic landmarks such as Intramuros and Rizal Park to indulging in the vibrant food scene, Manila provided an exhilarating introduction to the Philippines.

As we ventured further, we found ourselves in Butuan, a hidden gem in the northeastern part of Mindanao. Nestled amidst lush greenery, this peaceful city offered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. We immersed ourselves in the local culture, witnessing colorful festivals and savoring traditional delicacies. Butuan's tranquil atmosphere and friendly locals made it a strong contender for our perfect place to settle down.

Angeles, another captivating city we explored, charmed us with its vibrant nightlife and rich history. Known for its connection to the U.S. Air Force Base, Angeles exudes a unique blend of cultures. We wandered through the old town, admiring Spanish colonial architecture, and experienced the lively entertainment district, filled with bars, restaurants, and music venues. Angeles presented an exciting mix of urban living and cultural heritage.

While cities were enticing, we also sought the idyllic charm of smaller communities. We ventured into picturesque villages, tucked away in the heart of the Philippines. These quaint hamlets, surrounded by verdant landscapes, offered a true sense of community and a slower pace of life. We relished the simple pleasures of village living, from engaging with friendly locals to participating in traditional festivities. It was in these villages that we truly felt the warmth and hospitality that the Philippines is renowned for.

Of course, no exploration of the Philippines would be complete without indulging in its breathtaking beaches. We traversed pristine coastlines, with powdery white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters that seemed straight out of a postcard. The Philippines boasts some of the world's most beautiful beach destinations, and we had the privilege of experiencing their allure firsthand. From Palawan to Boracay, we immersed ourselves in paradise, snorkeling among vibrant coral reefs, lounging under swaying palm trees, and watching mesmerizing sunsets that painted the sky in a kaleidoscope of colors.

Throughout our 4-month journey, we documented every step of the way, capturing the essence of each city, village, and beach we encountered. Join us as we recount our adventures, sharing our impressions, insights, and ultimately, the perfect place we found to call home in the Philippines. Whether you're a fellow traveler, an expatriate seeking a new home, or simply someone with a love for exploration, our channel offers a window into the wonders of the Philippines and the joy of finding your own piece of paradise.

More gold. Scotty spends four months traveling around the Phils and in 24 minutes summarizes it all for us. Brilliant. Thanks for all your hard work traveling and then creating this great summary for us. I just watched this for a second time and feel like I could watch it many more times. So much to learn about this great country.

Nice video, sir. I got some ideas. Thank you! I agree with you about Angeles. It’s a bit too seedy for my comfort. I thinking of moving somewhere quieter but with many modern facilities. Thank you again for your review.

I live in Butuan. A few things about it: It depends on where you are in terms of the water pressure and flooding. In the middle of the city, yes, you will have a hard time. But if you start heading up the mountain a bit, you will have no problems with flooding or water pressure. I live in such a place (in a barangay called Ampayon) and we have no problems with these things.

And, like you said, transportation isn't bad at all once you figure out what's going on. It's not immediately obvious though and will take several months to get adjusted to that.

Too bad I didn't know you were here before. I definitely would have shown you around (there's a large university near me, for example, with tons of hot girls around).

And, yeah, the lack of foreigners here is an issue. There's basically no one around. And I'm a younger foreigner too so it's even harder for me.

The big win with Puerto Princesa is a major airport, and a quick ride to epic west shore beaches.
What about Batangas? I loved Tagaytay for the cool weather as well and wide open feel. I agree with you how most places in Philippines have a 2 week maximum before moving along.

Very useful information to me, if you keep exploring I hope you do more vids like this when it makes sense. That last live stream at the bar was also good, I think better internet helped.

Starbucks probably offers healthcare benefits to the employees from Day 1. The founder has a hardcore philosophy of making sure employees have healthcare. (This is deeply rooted in his childhood when his father got injured on the job and fell upon hard times.)
