Just a hard for listeners to tell a difference in A/B comparisons if you talk between the 2, or pause for any reason. It also helps a ton to A/B back and forth at least 3 times.

SSL bus comp was not compressing anything, while the make up gain was turned up by a couple of dB. It is known that any louder signal is perceived as more excited

I was watching this video, I think I was at the part where you were talking about Brauer Motion, and I was messaging my friend on Facebook at the same time (I'm an engineer and he's a producer) and I messaged him and said "Don't sleep on soundtoys though, Echoboy has a bit of a learning curve over the simplicity of H-Delay, but Echoboy sounds amazing!" then I closed facebook to finish watching this and when I got to 11:33 in the video I just about jumped out of my chair like "HA!!! WHAT'D I JUST SAY!"

Hi! Thank you for the nice and useful videos. However, were you actually compressing the audio when using the SSL? Because ir seems like the signal wasn’t really reaching the threshold.

Brauer Motion is one of my favorites for sure!! I like HComp and Kaleidoscope very much, RVox and RBass are highly regarded and for good reason, but one of my favorites that I don't see talked about a lot is Triple D. It's really good at ridding vocals of harshness and muddiness

It's so strange to me that SSL is lauded for sound. The studio I worked in, SSL stood for "sounds so lousy". The only reason it was in the studio was for automation. When the newer Neve consoles came out with automation, everyone pretty much dropped SSL. Maybe it's just a preference.

I really like the SSL channel strips. I like having everything in one plugin, which Waves has tons of great one-stop shop type plugins.
