Dear Cabview Holland fans, it's time for the very last video of 2024! Available for everyone to watch from next Saturday and as usual for Junior and Senior members already from today. In order to also give the Puppy members something extra for their support in the past year, they can also already watch this video now as a token of appreciation - hoping not to offend higher memberships.

This year I have done my utmost to make the films more beautiful and interesting, within the technical limitations and time constraints that I have to deal with. For example, the films are finally super smooth again thanks to the 60fps and, where possible, I show the exterior of our often beautiful station buildings in the intro. I have stopped filming in HDR because this resulted in very annoying compression phenomena and color deviations on the YouTube side. With a number of photographic tricks, the current SDR videos are actually almost indistinguishable from HDR in terms of dynamic range and it is a huge relief to be rid of that annoying YouTube quality degradation. In terms of content, you can find new information about the provinces I drive in during my rides since this year. From next year, I will also show an overview of my shift on the film day, so that you get an even clearer picture of a working day of an NS driver and be able to place the cab ride in perspective.

I am very proud to tell you that my channel has again yielded a number of new colleagues in 2024. This has again resulted in a nice bonus via the NS Referral Program. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for all your unwavering support and contributions in 2024. I already think it is great that I get to experience my dream job every day, but the fact that you enjoy it with me time and again gives my work an extra dimension, which I could never have dared to dream of when my rail adventure began in 2007.

I have enormously enjoyed your countless enthusiastic, helpful, supporting, funny, and sometimes moving comments. Whenever I read them, a big smile appears on my face every time and I realize how good it feels to be appreciated in this world :-)

I have imposed a no-filming period on myself during the holidays - which I must admit is hard to maintain, but I do need some time off from this project and spend more time with my family and friends for now. I must also allow the NS film inspector his holiday. This unfortunately means that there will be no new film on the first Saturday of 2025, sorry. But I will do my best to be able to publish the first video of 2025 the week after, and I hereby promise that for the rest of that year I will take you along weekly to show our beautiful railway network in our unique Dutch landscape.

Mooie film. Vincent. Een opmerking: bij het passeren van de Kuilenburgse spoorbrug vermeld je dat we de provincie Noord Brabant binnenrijden. Volgens mij moet dat Gelderland zijn. Noord Brabant bereiken wij pas als we de Maasbrug bij Den Bosch oversteken. Overigens, dank voor de mooie video.

Heb weer genoten van deze rit. Wel jammer dat je niet tot Venlo kon rijden... Wat een goederentreinen-file voor Eindhoven, 4 stuks! Heeft zeker te maken met de aanleg van het derde spoor in Duitsland over de grens bij Zevenaar, waardoor de Betuwe route niet bruikbaar is? En dat gaat wel een tijdje duren zo las ik. Apropos 3de spoor. bij Den Bosch is het derde spoor richting aansluiting naar Tilburg afgekoppeld. Dacht nog even vanwege de vele nieuwe betonnen dwarsliggers dat het spoor wordt gesaneerd, maar even verderop zijn de AHOB spoorbomen als verplaats, die staan nu precies op de plek van het derde spoor. Dus kennelijk definitief weg dat spoor...

Heey, wat leuk dat je die tegenkwam vincent, voorbij Lpe, enige tijd geleden, toen had ik dienst op de 3100 naar Arnhem vanaf ut, en moest ik terug rijden naar Hfdo, via shl, onderweg vanaf ut, naar ah, kwam ik volgens mij de oliebollenexpress tegen, in ieder geval ook de BR01 met 10 bakken er vast, super leuk om te zien, deze kwam tegemoet bij Veendaal de Klomp, en toen ik aankwam op ah, stond er eentje op het emplacement, zonder rijtuigen, volgens mij water te tappen, maar toen ik terug reed, naar ut, stond die er nog, en vond ik het leuk om een klein tyfoontje te geven, naar dit machtige machine, en onder het motto, oud ontmoet nieuw, deed ik dat. En kreeg ik fluitje terug te horen. Erg grappig om te ervaren!! Hele fijne feestdagen Vincent, en alvast een mooi uiteinde van 2024, en mooie en veilige ritten in 2025! Hopelijk dat we elkaar nog een keer tegenkomen als collega`s!!
