How to enable touch screen while driving Mazda infotainment

This will show all Mazda's infotainment years 2015, 2016 how to enable the touch screen while driving, without tweaks. Just entering in the CMU's test mode. This worked on OS version 55.00.753 NA it may also work on 55.00.760 NA I haven't tried on that one. Just when you get into the Test mode don't mess with the other toggles or you'll end up taking it to the dealer for them to fix it and it will cost you.

Works on 2016 CX-5 GX, GPS also works perfectly. Doesn't work on 2017 CX-5 GT, long press DEL on test screen doesn't bring up JCI test panel.

IT 2021 MX-5. Thank you so much. I went through the firmware update to 74.00.324 from 74.00.230?. Followed directions to the letter. Now I need a screen cleaning solution... fingerprints coming! WOO HOO!!!!

This works for 2017 mazda 3s 4 door and 5 door if anyone is wondering. Thx 4 the vid! I had debris near the buttons and one day the home key got stuck. Gl everyone

Skip the video and follow these instructions:

Press Favorite + Mute + Music and hold for 2 seconds

wait for the Test screen to pop up

Press Del for 20 seconds, until it says "JCI test mode"

type in "11" and hit Enter

Choose a script you would like to run,
Select Speed Toggle and disable.

press "Ok"

shut off the car, and new settings will take affect after the restart

I have a 2022 Mazda cx-5 and my wife has the 2017. I can get to the test screen but it doesn't enter JCI Test Mode once I've held down the DEL button for 20 seconds... Nothing happens...? Maybe a later version of software... Is there a way to work around this?

It doesn't work at 2021 mx 5. Menu opens but "delete" button doesn't work. Do you know another way?

Not working on firmware 70.0.021 NA. You can hold DEL all you want but there’s never a test code. I’m curious if there’s another code in the newer software. I want to get the updated usb cables and connector for Apple CarPlay and not being able to touch is a show stopper. Heck not being able to move favorites around even at 10 mph stinks!

Confirmation, for anyone interested, ... this does NOT work on US/CANADA version 59.00.450 NA N. You won't be able to get into JCI Test mode.

Just found out about this.  Worked fine on my '16 MX-5 Miata (without navigation).  Difficult to understand due to poor audio, but figured it out after repeated viewing.  Particularly helpful because access to and use of the darned Commander controls is pretty much impossible in the Miata.  Thanks mucho.
