New Car Technology 2014 such as, Electric Cars, Self-driving cars (which are fully autonomous vehicles, also known as driverless cars), already sound like something out of a science fiction movie. But they're part of our roadway reality now. Several automakers (Audi, VW, Ford, Tesla) and tech companies like Google are already testing them, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) predicts 75 percent of future cars on the road in 2040 will be self-driving.

The cars of the future will also be more efficient on the roadways which will lead to less traffic deaths, and will reduce traffic congestion which currently costs the U.S. economy about $87 billion every year. Many experts also believe that the cars of the future will weigh drastically less which will cut down on C02 emissions pollution.
