This professor does a great job of describing the general concepts of Bowen Theory. I thought this might be helpful for my viewers to learn more about Bowen Family Theory. I don't agree with all of his critiques, and I might have some of my own he didn't make. But the theory has been the best for me to grow, recover, and heal.

As an MFT I love this video. Well done. I pretty much exclusively use Bowen in tandem with CBT and reality therapy when needed. IMO and experience of the criticisms, the only one that at a surface level feels valid is the systemic purists as I do agree that sometimes the Bowen approach can seem to minimize the input from others outside of the primary dyad.
