Does it bother anyone else that he uses a double negative in the chorus, therefore, he's actually saying he DOES in fact have sympathy, which then completely contradicts the entire rest of the song, so none of it makes sense.

I also realize I'm an English Major, I also realize using this type of double negatives is common in Texas country slang, I also do like the song for what it's worth, I like the theme and message, as well as the tone of it. It just bugs me that he does have sympathy but he's basically just denying it with poor grammar.
