Elevated Tank Timelapse
Показать описание
The City of Westminster is investing $9 million to construct a new elevated water tank on the site of old storage units. This water tank will hold 3 million gallons of drinking water and replaces the old Sunset Ridge elevated tank that was first built in 1963 and aged out of operation.
The project began with demolition of the self-storage units located on property purchased by the City, the demolition included asbestos abatement and containment. Tank construction then started with site grading, followed by shaft foundation excavation, pier drilling, concrete pier pouring, concrete shaft foundation wall forming, derrick crane assembly, forming and pouring of nine concrete shaft ring walls, excavation of water valve vault and waterline installation, delivery, fabrication and staging of steel plates for tank cone and dome, fabrication of bottom steel cone, forming and reinforcing of concrete dome at the top of the shaft. Project activity continued with fabrication and painting of the steel bowl. The project will continue with jacking or lifting of the bowl to the top of the shaft, waterline tie-ins, tank filling, and completion in the summer of 2020.
