Give me a detective character that roams the underworld for the pursuit of knowledge. If you pay him he will give you some sort of hint. Like highlight a nice relic or reveal the exit.

You could make him a skeleton and name him Sherlock Bones 🌚

So cool. Maybe Ol' Redeye can have different quips for when you see him again. Maybe some scripted to how many times you died on a level.

"Died again huh, you'll get it on the next go!"

"Oof, another life bites the dust. Maybe you should just go back to the land of the mortals."

"And another one, and another one!"

"Seems like your struggling a lot in these catacombs, here's one of my beads. Free of charge." maybe a (+max hp bead)

realy good game but a tip, relook all the design to some inconsistency, like the skellys being too different of samuel(for some enemies design ideas i would surgest tboi), and my man i love your art style but the animation is like one of a flash game (not the new ones like the slugman) and the ui is like a free to play phone game, pls give samuel a redesign (i recomend a spelunk 2 type body), i really love your game

You know what I would really like to see? BONES! Also, some Easter Eggs and ARGs to decipher in order to know the lore of every character: you can integrate some hidden details, some codes to decipher, some multi-step procedures and so on in order to obtain some more informations about the characters. Damn, you can also add a reward for solving them, like a secret bead or special relic of some sort! You can also add a final secret boss level when you decipher everything! That would mean obviously some more time spent before the release, but I am sure I will not be the only one craving for this!

You know what would be cool? That you retain the first Red Eye design for the first encounter with Samuel, but as Samuel is progressing through the Dungeon, every time you see Red Eye after defeating a Boss, he changes a bit, until this final design you have shown us (or something else), showing the progress of Samuel through the Dungeon linked to Red Eye. Each time you defeat a boss, there are subtle changes to his design, becoming more apparent as you progress. He earns more power through the loss of bosses, stealing from them, and eventually he could become a final boss, the new grim reaper, deceivingly helped by your efforts. As you've said, "it makes him look suddenly more alive".
