Another reason not to get an over the stove microwave is the dangerous spills. Especially for older people. Many people are admitted to emergency rooms each year because something they were taking out of the microwave spilled onto them. Older people sometimes suffer with issues of lack of strength and or balance.

Washer/dryer capacity, to me, means the difference between being able to wash my comforters at home vs. taking them to the dry cleaner. It can be a big deal.

Some car detainers will vinyl wrap your appliance in any color or pattern you like. You can change it whenever, so gone are the days of living with one color for ten years.

Just got top loading LG washer dryer. LOVE IT. I’ll never have another front loading washing machine as long as I live. It was always off-balance, which just makes common sense. It was horrendous. The top loading with an agitator is wonderful.

I’ve always preferred white appliances. I’ve never been a fan of stainless steel or other colors. It’s nice to see my preference coming back into style…

We were instantly sold on the white GE Cafe line. Hook, line, and sinker.

Over the range microwave is 17” deep now. But still don’t mount one over gas burners.

The proposed bans on gas stoves are only for new construction, where you can size the electrical service adequately early in planning to accommodate induction. It’s not a ban on sales of all gas stoves. You would still be able to sell them for replacement in existing homes.

Most gas range bans refer to new builds and not preexisting builds.

RE: Inexpensive pro ranges.
A couple of years ago I replaced a worn out Thermador gas range with a less expensive, nice looking Thor gas range. Within a year 2 burners and the oven failed. The oven's porcelain interior cracked and came off in big chunks. Thor's customer service never got back to me.The stove ended up in the trash. I replaced it with a new Thermador range. You get what you pay for.

I don't believe the government's views with doing away with gas stoves. It's certainly not for our safety. But i do love my energy savings appliances. That you can actually see the results on your electric bills. So glad to you for the recommendations on dishwashers. I hope to get my first dishwasher this year after some remodeling. I'm 62 so you know why im so excited about it! Loved your advice about not buying features you won't use. Boy how they love to sell you all that😊

I think you’re very pragmatic on gas stoves, and I’m glad I have an electric one!

Would love for you to do a video focused just on appliances for which you have the fewest service calls. I have no faith that any appliance I buy will last like they used to. We are a retired couple on our third washing machine in 11 years. All brand name mid to higher range. We aren’t farming or running a laundry business out of our home. Just doing our clothes.

Every gas stove I’ve seen are dirty. Food and whatnot get slopped down below the grate and there it sits because it isn’t convenient to clean all the time. My glass top may not be trendy, or have the quick burner response of gas, but it always looks, and is, clean.

downdrafts suck. i work at insurance and already saw plenty of fire damage cases because of people spilling hot cooking oil in them and such

I wish they would make a creamy white. Plus cute appliances like back in the day. Not cold looking. No choices .

If the Bosch 800 series had offered a larger interior volume option, we may have gone for that. We got a 500 instead because we need the space. Separate compressors would have put us in a brand we didn't trust, size that would work, or price we couldn't swallow.
