In this video I fit and review the new Nokian Outpost AT tyres and discuss some of the concerns with fitting a 275/55/20 on a Range Rover L322. The fitment of this oversized tyre is relatively trouble-free, however there are a couple of areas of concerns: While they fit (largely) without issue, a 275/55/20 will not fit in the spare wheel well and there is some rubbing on the front wheel arch liners and the right rear wheel arch liner where the liner wraps around the fuel filler pipe; both of these issues can be addressed with a heat gun and some screw adjustment.

I have applied a 1/4" e-lift via the GAP IID Tool, though I am not really a fan of lifts on any land rover. I think the 1/4" looks better than the 1/2", but I might need to move back to the 1/2" because of the potential of rubbing; a 1/2" doesn't look out of the way and you can see the difference in some of the photos and footage in this video.

This video also goes through the GAP IID procedure to adjust the CCF files in the instrument cluster configuration to adjust for changes in wheel diameter and rolling circumference. These changes must be made via a GAP IID Tool or similar, and affect the efficiency of the ABS, trip counter, speedo, and fuel consumption figures. I demonstrate which elements and setting should be changed and to what figures (and why). In addition, I also give my reservations about changing to 275/55/20 from my preferred size of 255/55/20.

Just over 7k on mine and they look great. No irregular wear or chunking from gravel roads. Off to change the oil in the disco and pack up for a 3000+ mile trip to Florida and back in a couple days.

I just installed those tires on my 4R and must say that I am very pleased with them. Braking and cornering is 10 times better than with the oem bridgestone tires my truck was equipped with.

Hi! Have not seen you in a while, but, I always enjoy your LR content. I'm also a bit of a tire kicker and may I suggest (after the fact) you look into the BFG Trail Terrain which is 3 Peak rated and I believe comes in your preferred size. I have a Z71 Tahoe with 275/65x18 Nokian Ritiiva Plus for summer and dedicated Michelin winters. I've been reading about the new Outpost since I've long been a Hakka user...over 40 years. We all have our needs and our wants but that BFG may be your option since you have dedicated winter tires.

Hi, thanks for this great review. You briefly mention water ejection in the conclusion, actually have you ever tried emergency braking on a wet road with the Outpost? Emergency braking on the wet is a known weakness for AT tyres, so any results / comparison ?

I just installed 275/55r20 Duratracs on my L322. What PSI are you running in the Nokians?

agreed Nokian needs to make more sizes, although I think with their Russian plant shutting down they have enough issues making the sizes they had in 2021. I'd like to see 285/60r18 myself in the LT Outposts and Rockproofs

Have you had these in the snow yet? Looking to put these on my Ranger this fall for the winter season, since I will be doing a lot more travel to BC and need that Triple Peak and Snowflake. Used to have the Rotiiva AT on my old F150 and really liked them, and i've heard the Outpost AT Replacement was an improvement on the Rotiiva.

Any idea what these tires weigh in the 275 55 R20 size? I can't seem to find that anywhere for either for P metric or LT.

What tool is that you are using to change the tire size? Can you give me the link so I can order one. I am running 275 55 20 as well!

Did u get any steering wheel vibrations ? When you sais your buddy said they had some roughness to them, is that what he meant? Steering wheel vibes or maybe the tire resonates a little? I had the rotiva tires ans they resonated over road imperfections

Curious why you went with the P-metric SL and not the LT. I would like to out these on my Defender, but they don’t make them in XL in 275/55/20, and not sure I want/need the added weight of the LT.
