Median would be a better measure than average as average won't take into care the spread so if u take median, Spain Croatia and Italy all under 10 rank will be the group of death as it should be given for the other group France is pulling the average very high even though two of the fours teams are beyond 20th rank.

I don’t think a lot of people understands how the rankings are decided. It’s not hand picked by certain people but instead calculated through their own complex system.

I think the average points are not the best way to determine the strongest group. That could mean a group with 2 monsters and 2 middle class teams would be the strongest and a group with 3 strong teams and one of the weakest would be lower but in reality it’s not true. The median would be more accurate.

Don’t think you understand what the group of death means. It’s not the group with the highest coefficient it’s the group with 3/4 teams of similar status that all have a chance of progressing in the tournament. France and Netherlands are clear favourites to make it out group D with Poland and Austria weaker teams that are unlikely to have an impact on the tournament. Group B has 8th 9th and 10th in Spain Italy and Croatia, 3 teams that could all make it far in the tournament, 1 of which is guaranteed to be knocked out in the group stage. Hence why it’s called group of death as a big teams tournament will die out in this group no matter the outcome
