Was afraid this would destroy my FPS so I did the Encore RT test with all the settings maxed using a GTX 1080 and it ran very well!

This video could have been half of its original length if the interpreters talked faster than a T95 going uphill 😂

Desc.: "You can already see them in the new version of World of Tanks Encore RT (**link**)."

Would love to test out RT, if it's available yet, so please put in the link, thanks. Really good explainatory video by the way, good job!

That oldschool Core2Quad in the animations. Might try raytracing on my Q9550, just to see if it can stand a chance!

Tested the Encore demo.

Went from 240Hz to 144Hz average going from RT-Off to RT-Ultra with an RTX2070 Super at 1080p. That's a huge cost in performances for a visual improvement that's barely visible compared to ambient occlusion or reflexions.

Imo there's still work to do. if we lose 40% performances by just enabling ray traced shadows for tanks only, I don't want to imagine how terrible it will be once you add the ray-tracing features that make an actual difference. But you're on the right path.

Side note: while there is not a lot of difference between RT-Off and RT-Ultra, there is a big difference with RT-Maximum (the setting lower than Ultra): the noise looks awful and feels like a massive downgrade. Basically it comes down to this: RT-Off if you don't pay attention to shadows much, RT-High if you want better looking shadows on the tanks themselves(to not have pixelized shadows), and RT-Ultra for soft shadows around the tank too. Stay away from RT-Maximum, that settings does not deserve to exist, the noise is just disgusting.

Question: So essentially you've developed a ray tracing technology that will work on any GPU (DX11+). Does this mean that for this game, performance will be the same regardless if you are using an RTX or GTX card (assuming "normal" similar performances)?

I have 7 FPS on ultra graphics, do these new shadows lower it to 6 FPS?

This looks brilliant, I can't wait for you to implement the full potential of ray tracing in WoT like reflections !
