hey guys if you cut a 2x4 to fit in between the rails in front of the limiter strap and use some cedar shake shims that thd sells between the 2x4 and rails to help spread it apart it helps a lot I have a polaris and thats how I service the shocks. give it a try next time

Not for nothing but people who see a leaking shock want to take it out and get it rebuilt. So the way you demonstrated install only helps if people took out the whole skid. WoW a lot more work.

Ya know what makes that much easier, 2 plastic horses, a small piece of plywood to make a table & work off the ground. Even an old card table and some cardboard helps. A lot better on knees & back. 😁

Do i tightened the front bolts before starting the back?

It's funny how far rear suspensions have come. My Blizzard 5500mx was considered " long travel" in the early 80's . Lol. Cool vid Paisteboy .

I'm currently trying that trick to get the rear bolts in, that wood block, and I can't seem to get them close. Any suggestions?

For the mounting location on the upper mount the rear shock , unless you’re sled is an XRS there is only one mounting location. Maybe you need upgraded torsion springs.., stocks ones are really only good to 200 LBS.

Great vids !
A lot of guys put brass bushings in....called oil lite I think. Might think about it when you need to replace the stock ones.

Hi love the videos man. Is there a torque spec on the idler wheel when you are all set adjust the track? And what is the slack measurement on the track to the rail when it’s hanging?
Thanks in advance

Nice clean install, you guys made it look easy! Did you ask your shock guy about the front shocks & when would he recommend they be rebuilt? How much did it cost? Were the rebuilt shocks already adjusted for you, or do you need to hit the trail and adjust them a bit? What criteria does he rebuild them to, weight and riding style? Thanks, another quality worthwhile video!

Great video. Modern sleds skids are way easier. Be in Old Forge Super Bowl weekend or at least that’s the current plan.
