Sometimes I still feel surprised about how I went from living an average life to earning over $51, 000 monthly from an initial $300, 000 startup, many people tend to forget that the goal is to actually be rich, not look rich

By definition, poor people are poor because they are bad with money....
Always makes me shake my head when I see friends and family posting the new Mercedes or Lexus they just purchased (pronounced leased-to-own because unless you pay for it in full the bank actually still owns it) that they're going to be making 8 years of payments on because I know damn well they hadn't paid off their old car yet. I drive a 12 year old f150, and wife drives drives 6 yr old Accord, both paid in full at time of delivery. Car before that was 14 yrs old before we bought the Accord. I harp on the vehicles because aside from the home, it's the largest expense, and it's an expense that doesn't make you money. It's a toilet you flush your money into...and many people do it 10 to 20 or more times in their life.. Takes me back to a bit of sage advice from some old people: unless you can pay outright for the car, you can't afford the car. Which is why the very first car I owned cost me $1600. That's all the car I could afford...and I learned to work on it and drove it for 10 years. Best money I ever spent on transportation was on that old pos hatchback 4 banger beater.
I'm almost 55 now, never went to college. Only worked for 3 companies in my adult life. Worked myself up from the bottom each time, even encouraged them to take advantage of me and underpay me just to get my foot in the doors. By 38 I was making 6 figures. Never changed my lifestyle, just started socking everything extra away. Sure, I can drop 10k on a special vacation or anniversary now and then without blinking, or drop something really nice on the wife, , but my life over the last 30 years of work hasn't changed all that much. Still don't eat out very often, maybe once in 2 months. Only own 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of clean (Asics) sneakers and one beat up pair I do yardwork in. T-shirts around the house, colard shirts for work. A 10 year old stainless steel watch and a silver necklace my wife got me 25 years ago...and that 12 year old pickup. That's all the bling in my life. Hard work, money management, and time. There's the secret to success in this life for the masses. Don't worry about what other people have, only worry about what you can achieve and how you're going to get it.

Truly rich people know not to show off their wealth. When you have money, people will try to come after you for it. Security for themselves, families and assets are often needed.

I've known both rich and poor people, and by far, the rich people know how to respect and value money, and the poor people don't. Poor people cannot handle money. The ability to do so, is an inborn thing, and cannot be taught or learned. The video touched on this.

I'm glad it referenced the excellent book, "The Millionaire Next Door." It's a great read on the lifestyle that can set one up for financial independence and a comfortable retirement.

This is so true. I have met several CEOs and they look like average everyday people. If u didn't know them, u would not know they were millionaires.

The advice I’ve given to my kids is that if you want something that is an expensive luxury then save up for it. If you save you will realise what it takes to earn the item. You may also decide that the item isn’t that important after all. Putting it on a credit doesn’t have the same effect. Paying off the item for years is soul destroying eg for a vacation you’ve already taken

I think they should have classes in high school like credit card and savings class, and alcohol and drug classes. Have people that ruined their credit and went bankrupt and tell the students the mistakes they made and what to do and what not to do. Also a class on organization, because being organized makes you much more productive and helps you more organized with your money as well. Teach people to manage, and prioritize their finances.

Money can buy medicine, but not health.
Money can buy a house, but not a home.
Money can buy companionship, but not friends.
Money can buy food, but not an appetite.
Money can buy a bed, but not sleep.
Money can buy the good life, but not eternal life.

It is easy to buy high quality and/or designer clothes, shoes and and bags at thrift stores. Only buy classic well made items that will Never go out of fashion. That way, one's clothes will last for decades. Almost anything that has a 'dry clean only' label can be gently washed in cold water and pure soap, then air dried flat over netting.
