A prominent centerpiece of Colonial Williamsburg, The Governor’s Palace has deep historical significance to the early Colonial era and post-Colonial time period. The palace was home to seven royal governors as well as Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson who served as governors of Williamsburg Virginia in the post-Colonial years.

Almost certainly you’ll be looking for things to do in Colonial Williamsburg and eventually, the Governor’s Palace will find its way onto your most interesting places to see in Williamsburg Virginia list.

The palace garden incorporates amazing and intricate garden areas and landscaping as well as a fun and challenging palace garden maze. We take our chances entering into the maze but quickly discover finding our way back out of it could be deemed a navigational challenge of sorts for us.

The entrance hall, butler’s pantry, palace parlor, first-floor hallway, stairwell, ballroom, supper room, royal artworks, palace weaponry, relics, and a tad of majestic harpsichord thrown in for good measure….take the full tour and palace garden exploration with us to discover the Governor's Palace in Colonial Williamsburg Virginia.

Thank you. I was just there with George Washington in the back. He was so entertaining and informative, never wavering. He even took time for Q&A never leaving character. The kitchen and gardens are on the side of the palace. It was nice to see the beautiful gardens of fresh food growing.
Thank you for sharing your videos! Love them!!

We were there just two days ago and it was absolutely packed. We stood in line for 45 minutes to see the governors palace. But it was worth it. We had the cutest little old lady that was our tour guide.

We went to Colonial Williamsburg for Christmas in 1984. We went on a tour on Christmas day at the Governor's Palace.

I have been there several times; including Christmas week when everything is decorated. And I go lost in the maze also. The fishpond is neat; I saw a bird eating something in there. TM long time CWF member PS Sorry you did not get to go upstairs; it is quite amazing!

Paying extra for a tour guide is worth it, otherwise you miss learning the historical facts and interesting tidbits they throw in.
The upstairs of the mansion is the best parrt and I was surprised of the condition of the pond - it was as blue as the sky and loaded with swans and wildlife.and there was always something blooming in the gardens when I was there.

This was absolutely WONDERFUL AND BEAUTIFULLY FILMED! Going to CW is a bucket list of mine and bc of one set back or another (or world pandemic) I have not been able to make this dream come true. All I can say is THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for these gems you are producing. I LOVE the quality of your work from the overhead shots to the thoughtfully selected music. Until I can get there myself, I’ll continue to enjoy these amazing videos and take note of what I will one day see in person. THANK YOU AGAIN! Such a joy to watch.
